This Disclaimer applies to Scholarship Tally at https://scholarshiptally.com (the “Site”). It goes with our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy and should be read with them. If this Disclaimer and the Terms of Use ever disagree, the Terms of Use apply.
1. Information only. We are not an official funder
Scholarship Tally publishes general guides about scholarships, fellowships and funding for international students. We are a content and discovery resource. We are not a university, a government agency, a scholarship provider or an application service. We do not award scholarships, choose winners, take applications or act as an agent for any funder.
When we mention a programme, university, government or foundation, we are not claiming to be connected to it, approved by it or partnered with it, unless we clearly say so. Programme names and logos belong to their owners.
Nothing on the Site is legal, immigration, financial or professional advice.
2. Always check with the official source
Our articles, lists, labels (including “fully funded” and “partial”), eligibility summaries, deadlines and links are good-faith summaries. We base them on official information that was public when we wrote them. We try to keep them accurate, but programmes change their rules and our summaries can contain mistakes or leave things out.
Before you apply, pay any fee, book travel or make financial plans, check every important detail on the funder’s or university’s official website. The official source always overrides anything on Scholarship Tally. If you find an error, please tell us through our contact page and include a link to the official source.
3. No guarantee of awards or outcomes
We do not guarantee that any scholarship is still open, that our summary is complete, that you are eligible, or that you will be shortlisted or win funding. Only the relevant institution or funder decides who gets an award. Calling an award “fully funded” describes what the funder says it covers. It does not promise that every cost will be paid in your case.
4. Deadlines can change
Funders can move, extend, shorten, pause or cancel deadlines and intakes without notice. Where we can, we show deadlines in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). Converting time zones is still a good-faith estimate, and some funders publish only a date with no time or time zone. Treat the official deadline as the only one that counts, and apply early. We are not responsible for missed deadlines.
5. External links
Our guides link to university, government, foundation and other third-party websites. We do not control those sites. We are not responsible for their content, accuracy, availability, security or privacy practices. A link is not an endorsement. Your use of those sites is governed by their own terms and policies. Please check that a web address really is official before you enter personal information or upload documents.
6. We never charge fees
Scholarship Tally is free to use. We never charge application fees, “processing” fees or “guarantee” fees, and we never ask for payment to secure a scholarship. We will never ask for passwords, bank details or passport scans for “verification.” If anyone claiming to be Scholarship Tally, or to be connected with us, asks you for money or sensitive documents, treat it as a scam. Do not pay, and report it through our contact page.
Some real scholarship programmes or universities charge their own application fees. Those fees are paid directly to them, are not connected to us, and should be checked on their official website.
7. Advertising disclosure
To keep the Site free, we may show ads from third-party networks, including Google AdSense. Advertisers and ad networks may use cookies to show ads, as explained in our Privacy Policy. We do not choose individual ads, and an ad on our Site is not an endorsement of the advertiser, its products or its claims. Be careful with any ad that promises guaranteed scholarships or asks for payment.
Ads and partnerships never change which scholarships we cover, how we describe them, or our funding labels. We do not sell guaranteed placements or rankings. Sponsored content, if we publish any, will be clearly marked as “Sponsored.”
8. Limitation of liability
The Site is provided “as is” and “as available.” As far as the law allows, Scholarship Tally and its operators are not liable for any loss arising from your use of the Site or reliance on its content. This includes lost opportunities, lost funding, missed deadlines, travel costs and application fees. See sections 8 and 9 of our Terms of Use for the full warranty disclaimer and limitation of liability. Our Terms of Use are governed by the laws of Kenya.
9. Changes to this Disclaimer
We may update this Disclaimer by posting a new version on this page with a new date. If you keep using the Site after we make changes, you accept the updated Disclaimer.
10. Contact
Scholarship Tally is run by Derrick Ochieng, based in Nairobi, Kenya. If you have questions about this Disclaimer, or want to report an error or someone pretending to be us, email [email protected] or use our contact page.
