Airbus Global Graduate Programme: Who Should Use Their One Application

Decision guide to the Airbus Global Graduate Programme (AGGP): permanent paid graduate pathway (not a scholarship), one-application rule, UK visa limits, clearance traps, Arctic Shores window, and role closes around 30 Sep 2026. Checked against the official AGGP FAQ on 25 September 2026.

Airbus Global Graduate Programme: Who Should Use Their One Application

The Airbus Global Graduate Programme (AGGP) is a two-year paid graduate employment pathway with a permanent contract from day one. It is not a tuition scholarship, not an internship, and not a “fully funded study” package. If you already have the official AGGP page open, use this guide to decide whether to spend your single AGGP application on a current 2027-intake role before you touch Workday.

Facts below were checked against the official programme page FAQ and sample Workday AGGP2027 adverts on 25 September 2026. Role lists and close dates move. Re-open the live advert the day you apply.

What this guide adds beyond the official FAQ: a pre-application decision order (fit questions first), a split between programme-wide rules and vacancy-specific fields (start date, close date, clearance, right to work), and the failure paths that burn the one-application rule before you reach assessment centre. It is not a substitute for the live Workday advert.

Should you spend your one AGGP shot?

Answer these questions honestly. If any answer is no for the vacancy you want, do not force an application.

  1. Are you applying for a job, not a scholarship? AGGP pays a salary that varies by location and division. There is no official global salary figure to quote.
  2. Will you hold a relevant degree (or equivalent) before that role’s start date? Sample 2027 vacancies commonly start in September or October 2027. The programme screening language expects you to have graduated, or to graduate before start.
  3. Do you have at most three years of relevant post-degree professional employment? Airbus excludes mandatory university internships, sandwich years in industry, dual work/study apprenticeships, and student employment (for example a teaching assistant role) from that three-year cap. If you are already past three years of relevant post-degree professional work, this AGGP eligibility screen does not fit; Airbus still lists other vacancy types outside AGGP.
  4. Can you meet the right-to-work and clearance rules on the specific advert? UK AGGP roles: Airbus states it cannot provide Skilled Worker visa sponsorship. Some Space, Defence, Eurodrone, and government-linked roles need specific citizenship, dual nationality, or continuous local residency.
  5. Have you picked exactly one vacancy that matches your degree field, site, and long-term interest? Airbus requires one AGGP application per recruitment cycle.

If all five are yes for a live role, proceed to the official portal for that vacancy. If not, use another Airbus vacancy type or wait for a later AGGP cycle rather than forcing a mismatched AGGP form.

What AGGP is (and is not)

(Programme-wide rules below come from the official AGGP FAQ on the Airbus careers page, checked 25 September 2026.)

What it is: a structured development journey inside Airbus. Over about 24 months you combine a real hosting role with rotational placements, workshops, job shadowing, soft-skills training, and an annual cohort Development Week (including Leadership University). Official FAQ language: successful candidates are offered permanent employment contracts from their first day. After the development period, the standard framework is to return to the home team / initial hosting position for at least 12 months.

Functions depend on the live vacancy and change by intake. Sample 2027 titles we opened included engineering, manufacturing, supply chain / purchasing, quality, business operations, and related tracks. Locations also change by intake. The programme FAQ lists country examples such as the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Spain, the United States, Canada, Poland, India, China, and Singapore.

What it is not:

  • Not a university scholarship that pays tuition.
  • Not a temporary trainee-only contract (permanent from day one).
  • Not a guarantee of an international rotation (international rotations of 3 or 6 months are possible but not guaranteed).
  • Not a programme with one published global salary.
  • Not the same as Airbus internships, apprenticeships, UK industry placements, or country-specific graduate schemes marketed separately.

Rules and application issues to check before submitting

(Eligibility, visa, clearance, one-application, and assessment rules: official AGGP FAQ. Printed close dates: sample Workday AGGP2027 adverts. Always re-check the live requisition.)

These official rules are easy to miss if you only skim the hero text. Check each against the vacancy you picked.

  • UK Skilled Worker expectation on a UK AGGP role. Official FAQ: Airbus cannot provide Skilled Worker visa sponsorship for AGGP roles in the UK. Candidates with existing UK right to work, or eligibility via other routes (examples named by Airbus include Graduate Visa and Youth Mobility Scheme), remain welcome. Check UK Visas and Immigration for your route; do not invent sponsorship.
  • Clearance or export-control roles without matching nationality or residency. Official FAQ: some Space, Defence, Eurodrone, and government-linked vacancies require specific citizenship, dual nationality, or a period of continuous local residency so the hire can obtain national security clearance. Sample Workday adverts also mention export-control limits. Read the Requirements block on that requisition before you apply.
  • Submitting a second AGGP application after a stretch pick fails. One position per cycle. Recruiters may internally consider another track if they see a better fit; you still must not submit a second AGGP form to force that.
  • Missing the Arctic Shores window (if invited). After you apply, eligible candidates may be invited to an online gamified / task-based assessment (Arctic Shores). If invited, you have three days from the email. Official FAQ: if you do not meet the criteria, all AGGP applications in that window are declined, including later ones in the same window.
  • Treating “30 September 2026” as safe for every role. Many sample AGGP2027 Workday ads list an end date of 30 September 2026. The official programme page warns applications may close when enough applications are received, possibly before the stated close date. Apply early and trust the live advert.
  • Miscounting the three-year experience limit. The cap counts full-time relevant professional employment after your graduating degree. Mandatory university internships, sandwich years in industry, dual work/study apprenticeships, and student employment (for example a teaching assistant role) are excluded.
  • Using AI to fabricate experience. Airbus publishes guidance on responsible AI use in applications. Drafting help is one thing; invented experience will fail honesty checks.

How the process actually runs

Order matters. Do not prepare for assessment centre exercises before you have a live application and assessment invite.

  1. Pick one live AGGP vacancy on the Airbus Workday board (search AGGP / AGGP2027 from the official programme page or Workday AGGP search). Treat start dates and printed close dates as vacancy-specific, not as permanent programme rules.
  2. Online application in English through the careers portal / Workday. Submit a careful CV and the answers or motivation materials that requisition asks for (some sample ads request a cover letter or motivation in English).
  3. Online assessment if invited (Arctic Shores / task-based). Three days from the invite email. It looks at potential and fit (behaviours, decision-making, situational judgment), not a technical exam. Quiet environment. Raise adjustment needs on the platform if required.
  4. Application review by Talent Acquisition and the hiring manager.
  5. Virtual assessment centre (group exercises and interviews online if invited).
  6. Offer. Official FAQ: if you succeed at interview, you can expect an offer within about a week.

Airbus invites candidates to say if they need adjustments during application and selection. Sample adverts give examples such as accessible facilities and extra time for written exercises. Raise needs on the assessment platform and during the process when invited.

How to file one careful AGGP application

  • Apply only through official Airbus careers / Workday links. Do not use aggregator “apply” mirrors as your source of truth.
  • Read the Requirements block on the specific requisition: degree field, site, start date, clearance, right to work, English CV rule.
  • Keep one strong application. Do not spray multiple AGGP requisitions.
  • Watch email for three days after submit so the assessment link does not expire unread.
  • If you need adjustments, flag them early (application and assessment platform).
  • If UK-based sponsorship is required for your situation and the role is a UK AGGP post, stop and choose a non-UK track or another employer pathway instead of hoping the FAQ is wrong.
