Academic requirements: Before the start of the award, applicants must hold a 4-year bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited United States college or university, or from a recognized institution of higher learning abroad. Do I have to apply separately to the University of Hawai‘i?
Yes, unless you are already registered in a UH graduate degree programme. Submit the UH admission application by 1 December, then upload the Application Acknowledgment to your East-West Center file. Complete UH admissions and departmental requirements by 10 January.
Is the fellowship a full-cost award?
It covers general UH Mānoa graduate tuition and fees up to the stated general rate, East-West Center dormitory housing, and a partial living stipend.
